Wtf: Replying to Flames
I got my first real flame the other day after posting a fic for The Walking Dead entitled "Hot Slice, A Post-Apocalyptic Ode to Bad Porn". Based off of a kinkmeme prompt asking for awkwardness and pizza boy roleplay, like most of my fics it didn't turn out nearly as cracky as it sounds (or as it probably should have been).
The flame in question comes courtesy of FF.net user EnAiSonoIchiIzureKirenaiNemuri, whose screen name is romanized Japanese for...I don't care enough to look it up, really, but from context of her profile assume is supposed to translate to "I love the one who cannot sleep". According to her profile, she has written 4 stories for Naruto, including one where Sakura is "a devastated teenage girl whose life has just come crashing down", (no description of why that is, by the way, just that her suicide attempts always fail) as well as a one original fiction story that for some odd reason is categorized as a crossover.
The flame reads as follows:
Daryl and Glenn, really? Daryl is no goddamn homosexual! and even if he WAS, he'd have better taste than Glenn, of all people! UGH! Just glimpsing the summary for this story makes me shudder in fury and nausea!
I'd meant to respond right away, but my net was shit, and then honestly I forgot about it. I only remembered it today when I was on replying to another conversation and thought I'd revisit it.
I phrased my reply thus:
Thanks for the comment. Got a good laugh out of the fact that you took the time out of your day to comment on a fic you don't intend to read, and that the mere existence of my fic clearly bothers you more than your comment bothers me.
Regarding Daryl having better taste... Eh, probably, but it's not like there's a large selection available. Rick -is- married, after all, and Daryl and Shane have no chemistry whatsoever...
Next time maybe I'll write him with T-Dog.

My condolences. Don't let it get you down. Happens to all of us.
