Wtf: Cascading deja vu
Supposedly, deja vu occurs when your brain flubs the transfer between long term and short term memory, basically making you think that something you just did was something you've already done. My brain must be skipping like a record tonight, because I just had the longest, weirdest, most meta experience of deja vu I've ever had.
I'm writing a scene for "Black Edelweiss", one taking place between Konrad and Angela Petrelli. The deja vu moment kicked in as I pondered a specific line, and had a very specific image of the scene repeat on me. Then, I deja-remembered thinking about deja vu in the context of a deja vu episode. Then, it extended itself to Angela's presence in the scene, and the irony of deja vu occurring in a scene concerning a precog. And then, the moment finally concluded itself by misremembering the thought process which lead me to post about it here.
So yeah. Just another sign I should not be working on fic at ten 'til eleven when I have to get up early tomorrow for the first day of the quarter.

Huh. I didn't know it happened like that. It was explained to me as, in some cases, your heart (MY heart) has a weird arythmia moment, one of the 4 sequences of beat is repeated, so the blood "accelerates" twice in your brain, bringing twice a new wave of orxygen to your processing cells and they register the same instant twice.
I have had freaky deja vu in places I knew for a fact I'd never been before (like... while travelling). But it wasn't even your usual 'feeling' that you've done this before, it was like... I knew the place. I could tell you if you turned left the road would take you down to the shore quicker, stuff like that. Oo
Brains are magnificent things.

Indeed. Which is probably why my fic continues to be a showcase of every bizarre thing its possible to go wrong in them.
