Much as I hated him being depowered, it had to happen. Exactly. Which is part of why Konrad is so broken, because I needed a way to nerf his ability a little, while still leaving him potentially dangerous.
Though, now that I think of it, a story involving a villain with full-powered empathic mimicry could potentially be epic...
I'm very bad with faces, so I wonder if they have the same actress? *nodnod* Stana Katic.
Even assuming the ability itself doesn't come with mental side effects, the damage to one's personal relationships must be HUGE. No wonder he destroyed his past identity! Yeah. They way I picture the ability working, it'd be like the movie Memento only turned inside out.
And I'm glad you liked this chapter. I know I'm probably weird for it, but I just love Noah and Angela. They're some of the most complex characters Heroes ever had, and they just fascinate the crap out of me.
(Also, Castle was just such a fun, perfect POV to write from for this chapter. I really wish I had more places I could use him in this story.)
