Title: Until Lambs Become Lions
Series: Grimm Reflections
Fandoms: Castle, Grimm
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Fantasy, Angst, Romance
Details: Pre-slash, crossover, AU, genre!crack, mythical creatures, fairytales, divorce, cross-cultural relationships, unbetad.
Characters/Pairings:pre-Javier Esposito/Kevin Ryan, past-Kevin Ryan/Jenny O'Malley.
Wordcount: 2,176
Summary: There are things Javier knows about his partner's wife—ex-wife—that Kevin doesn't.
Notes:This is a prologue to a longer fic entitled "Grimm Reflections", which will involve a proper crossover with the characters from Grimm.
All you need to know to understand this story is that there are races of animal-like supernatural creatures called "wesen" (ves-en) that live secretly amongst humans, and Grimms are humans gifted (or cursed) with the ability to see them for what they really are. Grimms act as humanity's defenders from wesen-kind. Historically, many have viewed all wesen as subhuman or evil, contributing to the reciprocal belief among wesen that Grimms are indiscriminate, brutal killers.

"I'm not afraid of you, Javier," Jenny finally admitted, voice rough as she looked up into his eyes. "I'm afraid of him." )

Title: Keep What You Kill
Series: A Once and Future Thing
Fandoms: The Chronicles of Riddick
Rating: PG
Genre: Romance, Supernatural, Science Fiction
Details: Slash, crossover, reincarnation, casual discussion of murder, galactic conquest and genocide, unbetad.
Wordcount: 3,457
Characters/Pairings: The Chronicles of Riddick—Richard B. Riddick/Vaako.
Summary: Riddick offers answers. Vaako should have been more curious about the questions. Sequel to "Til Underverse Come".
Details: At what point does a crossover stop being a crossover and become a fusion? At what point does a fusion stop being a fusion and just become a normal fic? I don't even know what this is anymore, or where it's appropriate to post it. Because on the surface, this is a story only about Riddick and Vaako, but beneath the surface its about so much more...

"I'll ask you one more time, Vaako: When I looked into oblivion, do you want to know what it was I saw?" )

(Fic) Fools Rush In

Title: Fools Rush In
Series: Quis Custodiet
Fandom: Castle, Supernatural (no canon knowledge necessary).
Genre: Angst, Mystery, Supernatural
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Cliffhanger.
Details: Slash, genre!crack, crossover, case!fic, AU, blasphemy, mythology abuse, spoilers.
Characters/Pairings: Castle―pre-Kevin Ryan/Javier Esposito, mentions of Kevin/Jenny and Javier/Lanie. Kate Beckett, Richard Castle. Supernatural―Bobby Singer, Claire Novak, Amelia Novak, mentions of others.
Wordcount: 10,532
Summary: When Javier Esposito went missing and the body of an unidentified woman was found in his apartment, Detective Kevin Ryan refused to believe the worst of his partner. Now, with the case threatening to go cold, he has embarked on his own investigation, determined to uncover the truth.
Notes: Early season 4 for Castle, and AU for season 6 of Supernatural, so spoilers up to there. Part of the "Quis Custodiet" AU crossover 'verse. Takes place a couple months after "'Aloha' Doesn't Mean 'Goodbye'" (SupernaturalxHawaii Five-0), but stands alone. In fact, I think this story is much better if read first.

Title: 'Til Underverse Come
Series: A Once and Future Thing
Fandoms: The Chronicles of Riddick, The Eagle, The 13th Warrior, Castle, Terminator, Terminator: Salvation, Firefly.
Rating: PG
Genre: Romance, Supernatural, Science Fiction
Warnings: Canon character deaths, spoilers.
Details: Slash, het. Crossover (like whoa), reincarnation, unbetad.
Wordcount: 1,767
Characters/Pairings: The Chronicles of Riddick—pre-Richard B. Riddick/Vaako, Imam, Kyra. The Eagle—Marcus/Esca, Uncle Aquilla. The 13th Warrior—Ahmad ibn-Fahdlan/Herger. Castle—Javier Esposito/Kevin Ryan, Roy Montgomery, Kate Beckett. Terminator: Salvation—Star/Kyle Reese. Firefly—Zoe/Hoban Washburne, Derrial Book, Inara.
Summary: When Riddick crosses the threshold into Underverse, he sees all.
Details: This crazy mass-crossover is an expansion on the reincarnation saga previously explored in Deja Vu and Jamais Vu. I had a few of these ties in mind already, but the core of this only came on me today, and like the other entries in this series, the thing basically wrote itself.

It is only when they are together that they truly live. )

Title: Jamais Vu
Series: A Once and Future Thing
Fandoms: Castle, The Eagle
Rating: PG
Genre: Romance, Supernatural
Warnings: spoilers for The Eagle.
Details: Pre-slash, genre!crack, crossover, unbetad.
Wordcount: 870
Characters/Pairings: Castle—pre-Javier Esposito/Kevin Ryan. The Eagle—pre-Marcus/Esca.
Summary: "I swore an oath of honor never to abandon you."
Details: I consider this a prequel of sorts to "Deja Vu".
Oh, and like "Deja Vu" and "Women Scorned", the idea for this was actually poached out of someone else's conversation, so blame—er, credit to [livejournal.com profile] coffeebuddha and [livejournal.com profile] theslashbunny for putting it in my head.

Watching Javier drive away had left a cold, tight ache in his gut. It was more than just fear. More than just tension )

black_sluggard: (ryan and esposito)
Title: Of Mice and Men
Fandoms: Castle, Fables
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Angst, Fantasy, Humor, Romance
Details: Slash, genre!crack, AU, crack, unsolicited crossover, fairy tales, talking animals, author insanity, shades of "omfg what did I just write?", unbetad.
Characters/Pairings: Castle—Javier Esposito/Kevin Ryan, Kate Beckett. Fables—Bigby Wolf, Frau Totenkinder, Reynard, Rose Red, Bagheera, others. OCs.
Wordcount: 30,178
Summary: In which a city mouse visits the country, which predictably leads to trouble and (in no particular order) revelations, relations and reciprocation; a funeral and a shotgun wedding; and Javier almost gets eaten by a panther.
Notes: A crossover with the comic Fables. This was done for [livejournal.com profile] adja999 for [livejournal.com profile] ryanandesposito's Secret Santa Fic Exchange. I apologize for crossing with a fandom you probably don't even read, but this was honestly the only thing my muse wanted to run with.
Fortunately, Fables draws its characters from fairy tales and similar stories, so they should at least be familiar in that context. On the off chance anyone happens to be familiar with Fables, this takes place before (i.e. blatantly ignores) the "Dark Ages" arc.

Prologue: Once Upon a Time...
(...which introduces characters we don't know, characters we only think we know, and characters we do know whom we may not recognize.)
Chapter One: Curiouser and Curiouser
(In which Javier experiences guilt, denial and car trouble, and a black panther is poorly substituted for a white rabbit.)
Chapter Two: Fish, Ponds, and Things of That Sort
(Which concerns a long-overdue reunion where awkwardness is mostly a matter of scale.)
Chapter Three: The Sky Is Falling
(In which everyone does their best, but nothing makes sense and there really isn't any time for proper explanations.)
Chapter Four: A Marriage of Inconvenience
(In which further questions are raised, most of which are not answered, but even then Javier is quick to sense when things start going rapidly downhill...)
Chapter Five: Small Talk
(Which contains shoe dropping of all sizes, and related puns become completely unavoidable.)
Chapter Six: Relatively Relative
(In which proper introductions take place, and it's all painfully civil—though just as painfully embarrassing.)
Chapter Seven: Hare Trigger
(In which a second kiss proves even more disarming than the first, magic animals discuss gay marriage, and Kevin is given some heavy food for thought.)
Chapter Eight: Trial or Error?
(In which a third kiss decides whether or not a fourth will seal the deal.)
Chapter Nine: Holy Matri-moley
(In which Javier's life flashes before his eyes...which, given the existence of talking panthers is probably long overdue.)
Epilogue: ...Happily Ever After?
(In which matters may not be resolved as easily as anyone believes...)

(Fic) Deja Vu

Title: Deja Vu
Series: A Once and Future Thing
Fandoms: Castle, Firefly
Rating: PG
Genre: Romance, Sci-fi
Warnings: Character death, spoilers for Serenity.
Details: Slash, het, genre!crack, crossover, unbetad.
Wordcount: 1,750
Characters/Pairings: Castle—Ryan/Esposito, implied Castle/Beckett. Firefly—Zoe/Wash, Mal/Inara, Kaylee, Inara, Book.
Summary: From the moment they first met there was something about their new pilot had made Zoe uneasy. Something familiar that she hadn't quite been able to put her finger on.
Details: To be quite honest, I'm not even sure if this counts as a Castle fic, even though it was written as one. This exists somewhere in that grey area between "fusion" and "crossover". Inspired by a serendipitous occurrence on the [livejournal.com profile] ryanandesposito Anon-athon where one of the anon's accidentally had Esposito echoing Zoe's first impression of Wash, regarding his first impression of Ryan. I've thought before that the couples were very similar, so this idea just happened naturally from that...
Interestingly enough, rereading some older fics a few weeks later, I realized that [livejournal.com profile] pure_mornings also wrote a fic that put the same dialogue in Javier's mouth. Go figure.

Title: 12 x 13
Fandom: Castle, Warehouse 13

Genre:   Sci-Fi, Romance, Humor
Characters/Pairing: Castle—Kevin Ryan, Kevin/Jenny, Kevin/Javier Warehouse 13—Claudia.
Warnings:  Slash, crossover, genre!crack.
Word Count:  396
Summary:  A crossover with Warehouse 13.

Details: Written for the Anonymous Ficlet- and Drabble-athon over on [livejournal.com profile] ryanandesposito. I don't actually even watch Warehouse 13, so Claudia might be a little out of character. But my roomate watches religiously (and has a huge crush on her), and somehow this idea popped up.

Title: 'Aloha' Isn't Really 'Goodbye'
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0, Supernatural.
Genre: Angst, supernatural, pre-slash.
Rating: PG-13
Details: Pre-slash, genre!crack, AU, blasphemy, mild language.
Characters/Pairings: Hawaii Five-0
Pre-Danny Williams/Steve McGarrett, Grace Williams. Supernatural—Castiel, Sam and Dean Winchester.
Wordcount:
Summary: There was always the threat that Five-0 would be torn apart if the threat of war recalled one of their number to active service. Unfortunately, Steve's military obligations were the least of there concerns.
Notes: AU for both series. That statement is a no-brainer as far as Five-0 is concerned, but this fic also disregards season 6 of Supernatural. I haven't seen many episodes of Hawaii Five-0, and they weren't all in order, so I have no idea where in season one this would fit. Obviously pre-finale, but considering the plot, it probably doesn't matter in the long run.
This story is part of the "Quis Custodiet" multi-crossover 'verse, but stands alone. While it is the first story chronologically, I suggest reading "
Fools Rush In" first if you are a Castle fan, because several elements revealed in this story are detrimental to the suspense of the second, but either can be read first.

Title: Black Edelweiss
Series: Zeitgeist
Follows: One Giant Leap
Fandoms: Castle, Heroes.
Rating: R
Genre: Sci-fi, Suspense, Angst, case fic (if you squint).
Warnings: References to vivisection, torture, human experimentation, September 11th, and the Holocaust.
Details: Pre-slash, crossover, AU, genre-crack, angst, character focus slanted by shameless author bias, interpretation of minor characters bordering on OCs, angst, blatant denial of canon character deaths, questionable character deconstruction (to say the least), "morally grey", canon abuse, time travel, and angst.
Wordcount: 113k+
Characters/Pairings: Castle—ensemble, Ryan/Esposito pre-slash. Heroes—Noah, Angela, Tracy, Hiro, Peter, Sylar, mention of various others. Allusions to characters from NCIS.
Summary: Two weeks after Claire Bennet's televised leap from the Ferris wheel, the 12th handles it's first case delving into the strange world of specials. Evidence points the investigation toward a former Company Agent, a man Noah Bennet would swear up and down doesn't exist.
Notes: Takes place post-series for Heroes, and post- Nikki Heat and Knockdown for Castle. Takes place after my story "One Giant Leap" (for a given value of "after").
I'm fudging the timeline of both shows a bit, but specifically for Heroes, assuming a longer period of time between Volume 3 and 4, and that the series finale, Brave New World, took place in early December of 2010.
Disclaimer: Slash, superpowers and Nazis.
And while it seems almost a waste of time to disclaim this, no, I am not in any way a supporter of Nazi ideals, white supremacy or the Third Reich. I'm just an insane history-loving sci-fi nerd, and I like to acknowledge that Nazis, despite having been human beings moved by human desires, are one of the most universally one-dimensional characters in all of fiction, and wanted to present one that wasn't...
Remember, it's a crossover with Heroes , where things are almost always a bit "morally grey".
That said, there's enough wrong with this whole story for you to hate me, regardless. If for no other reason than because "empathic mimicry" is a horrible cop-out of a power, and is a horrendous plot device even when Peter had it.
This is without a doubt the most psychotic story idea I've ever conceived of, and I apologize in advance to anyone who actually reads this. Castle fans most especially.
Title is borrowed from the memoir by Johann Voss (which I haven't read, I just thought it fit).

Word Count:  1,242

Title: One Giant Leap
Series: Zeitgeist
Fandoms: Castle, Heroes and NCIS.  Others hinted.
Rating: PG
Genre: Sci-fi, Angst
Warnings: Genre!crack, time travel, pre-slash (or slash, 'cause, you know, time-travel), crossover, AU, future!fic.
Wordcount: 8,269 words of naked insanity.
Characters/Pairings: Castle—Javier Esposito/Kevin Ryan, mention of others.
Summary: "I know this is crazy, but it's real. When it's over, go ahead and believe it was all a dream. You'll know better soon enough. I can't give you much without risking events still ahead of you. You've been pulled into the future. Your future. My present."
Details:  Written for [livejournal.com profile] ryanandesposito's July ficathon.  I'm fudging the timeline for both shows to make this work. Takes place after "Last Call" but before "Nikki Heat" for Castle, and before "Brave New World" for Heroes. More or less... This is actually prologue for a larger fic, a very bizarre multi-crossover series I've been constructing. It mostly foreshadows the general shape of where it's universe would be headed.
