(Wtf) Writing Update - 10 March 2014 (and a surprise rant?)
Monday, 10 March 2014 12:57 pmI accomplished practically nothing this week in terms of actual writing. Which sucks in general, and double-sucks so far as it concerns my participation in almosthumanbang. Not ready to give up quite yet (there's still more than a few months to go), but I find my enthusiasm with the story waning, and that concerns me.

Tuesday, 27 November 2012 12:39 amI've been following my usual pattern with the new crossover series. You know the one: Idea, then plotting a whole goddamned outline, then getting ideas for prequels, sequels, and assorted nonsense. Then I open up GIMP and start making graphics.
Because I'm mental.
This is the banner I've created for the Grimm crossover. I'm not entirely happy with it. I think that's mostly because of the corner bit... I was having trouble getting the lettering to look like it was printed on paper. No matter what I did, it either came out too blurry or too crisp. Also, Kevin seems...very boring in this image. Which sucks, considering the larger fic in this 'verse pretty much revolves around him.
I am, however, quite happy with how my manip of löwen!Javi turned out. I mean...it's cheesy as hell, but aside from the sheer hopeless nerdery of having spent an hour or so altering a pic to turn Jon Huertas into a lion furry, I think it looks awesome.
So, yeah. That's all for now. I think perhaps this is deserving of a Moment of Zen, so in the spirit of Grimm I give you...cellos.

Summary: There are things Javier knows about his partner's wife—ex-wife—that Kevin doesn't.
Notes:This is a prologue to a longer fic entitled "Grimm Reflections", which will involve a proper crossover with the characters from Grimm.
All you need to know to understand this story is that there are races of animal-like supernatural creatures called "wesen" (ves-en) that live secretly amongst humans, and Grimms are humans gifted (or cursed) with the ability to see them for what they really are. Grimms act as humanity's defenders from wesen-kind. Historically, many have viewed all wesen as subhuman or evil, contributing to the reciprocal belief among wesen that Grimms are indiscriminate, brutal killers.
( "I'm not afraid of you, Javier," Jenny finally admitted, voice rough as she looked up into his eyes. "I'm afraid of him." )
