Wtf: Keeping it in the family.

There's a certain, almost religious terror inspired by the realization that your mother has not only gotten a livejournal account, but has read all your slash fic (even chapter five of the werewolf fic, with the vaguely smutty scene) and left comments. Favorable comments, but still.

Talking to her about it later, she also wanted me to share the link with her best gay friend Johnny...

Having initiated my own mother into the mysteries of slash, I then shared with her the wisdom that any slash fan girl knows: that "subtext" is just an anagram for "buttsex". She thought that was hilarious.

"Now I'm one of the girls, right?"

Summary: There was always the threat that Five-0 would be torn apart if the threat of war recalled one of their number to active service. Unfortunately, Steve's military obligations were the least of there concerns.
Notes: AU for both series. That statement is a no-brainer as far as Five-0 is concerned, but this fic also disregards season 6 of Supernatural. I haven't seen many episodes of Hawaii Five-0, and they weren't all in order, so I have no idea where in season one this would fit. Obviously pre-finale, but considering the plot, it probably doesn't matter in the long run.
This story is part of the "Quis Custodiet" multi-crossover 'verse, but stands alone. While it is the first story chronologically, I suggest reading "Fools Rush In" first if you are a Castle fan, because several elements revealed in this story are detrimental to the suspense of the second, but either can be read first.
