The answer to your question is "Yes" and "enthusiastically and without guilt".
The in-universe answer to that question is "None of your god damned business, Castle." ;)
The way I conceive it, things just sort of flatten out. The wolf part of them and the human part want the same things, but the former doesn't have access to the same nuances they do when they are human shaped. So the things that "matter" aren't always the same things between forms, but there are always going to be things that carry the same importance regardless.
And most of those things fall into a mental folder labeled with red Sharpie in big, bold letters (capitalized, underlined, with a dozen exclamation points) with the word "PACK".
