As mentioned in my last journal I've signed up for the [livejournal.com profile] spook_me fic challenge. The random creature prompt I was given was "Witch/Wizard", which, as it happens, is exactly in line with that new plotbunny that's burrowed its way into my brain.

So...yeah. Apparently I'm not going to be able to avoid that one.

Though I was given my prompt on the 17th, all the progress I've made in that time was just brainstorming (translation: lost amid the unending abyss that is TV Tropes) and writing down whatever ideas came to me in my notebook, so there really wasn't much point at that time in making a post about it. Now that I've got most of my paper notes copied down and (vaguely) organized to a very, very rough outline document, I'll start keeping track of my progress, and time until it's finished.

At least I won't be doing it alone. My buddy Z's been busy with his new job, and just too tired to deal with my fanfic chatter, so he tossed myself and another friend of his together (one who had also been bugging him).

He's kind of been regretting it, because we've gotten along terrifyingly well.

She's signed up for Spook Me as well, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where her story goes. (I didn't even play Dragon Age, but who doesn't love a good vampire story?) And it's nice to have found a cheerleader on a story, and one who's not afraid to point out when things aren't making sense.

Especially when that beta I contacted on Fanfiction.net still never contacted me after their initial "yes" regarding fic help. :/

Familiar Spirits [Castle]
So... This is another Kevin/Javier fantasy AU. Because, that's why. I've mostly decided to abandon my early thoughts of making this story a case fic, instead focusing on intrapersonal drama and the religious themes that have crept in to take over the story.
An atheist writing about a Catholic's spiritual crisis...you know that'll end well.
Also, there's a part of me that wants to turn this into that poly story I've been thinking of writing for a while. It would probably be easier not to—I might not watch the show anymore, but I'm still aware that Kevin is (supposedly) happily married with a kid now. , but I've just gotten so tired of writing Jenny out of the picture (she was written horribly on the show when I still watched it, but still, the hurdle has become repetitive).
