Well we've got proper net again.

Debating whether or not to buy extra userpics. I'm horrible about buying things for myself. Even when shit costs only a couple dollars always feel like I could be using it for something better. (It's lost me several candybars over the years. T_T)

I'm 27 and still live at home, which isn't something I'm ashamed of. With both parents, a grandmother, a couple of' adult friends, and my sister who comes and goes it's a pretty full house, so I'm just one more. Of course, you put that many supposed adults in one living space and some crazy shit can happen. This isn't even shit compared to some of the things that get said in my house, I plan on trying to share more later, so eventually I'm sure I'll catch better for you. In the mean time:

Kenna (my sister, early 20s): "Nah, I left my vibrator at the apartment."
Tony: "Pfft. If your vibrator uses AAA batteries, you're hopeless."
Me: "Depends on how many it takes."
Kenna: "Yeah, I can fit about seventeen in that thing."

Dude, buy yourself some userpics. It's really inexpensive and a lot of fun.

BUT, be warned. It's addictive. If you get a package, you'll never go back to 15. And you always need more because there's that Firefly icon that has a cool joke with Mal, but there's the Castle one where he makes a face and it's just so funny. So you *have* have both, because you may very well NEED them in the future. (I mostly match my icons to my posts/comments and their moods. I'm so proud that I managed to comment on someone pondering costume ideas and a dress she wore five years ago with this: *see icon* It's one of those WIN moment you feel like a complete dork but you don't care because it feel so damn good. :P)
Right now, i have two icon packs. Sometimes I itch for more. Guh.

Huh. The place you live in sounds kind of fun (except if it's cramped, that would get homicidal quickly). I yearned for a big household growing up. It was always just me and my parents (long story about my big bro and little sis weren't there, bitches were less than a kilometer away from the beach in the south of France. Boo!). When we had family gatherings are there would be ten kids and twenty five adults around the table, I'd feel real happy.

*giggles at convo* I like it. Especially if it's all deadpan. :P

Yeah, I'd noticed you had quite a collection...

My main thing is that I have not icons enough for the fandoms I want to write for/about. I have one icon for Heroes (which sucks), and I don't have an icon for Castle that isn't Ryan/Esposito related (and until I wrote that Martha fic, I never thought I'd need one). And part of me yearns for a Gargoyles icon (I made a cool one with animated text years ago, I'll have to see if I can still find it), and I want my Glenn/Daryl icon back. T_T I think I could probably limit myself to only adding icons I make for myself. I'm not horrible at it.

(Though you'd never know it... Christ, until I got my new laptop I had no idea how shitty my Demon!Dean icon and the banner for Life were. It all looked like the same shade of black on my screen. *facepalms*)

The big household thing is something I've lived with my whole life. Not only do I have two sisters and a half brother that lived with us most of my childhood, we almost always had friends staying with us semi-permanently as well. And it can be extremely cramped and homicidal. For a while it was my sister and I, our parents, my mom's mother (we moved in with her years ago), Tony who used to work with my mom, Tony's wife Adrienne, and Tony's ex-girlfriend Leeann (which you can imagine makes things all kinds of awkward and tense). Adrienne isn't here anymore because she and my mom don't get along, and Tony is going to eventually join her when they find a place. Without the buffer...well, Tony and Leeanne get along like cats in a wet sack.

It wasn't quite deadpan, but there wasn't a lot of concern. That shit happens nonstop around here. And crazier things, like my sister and Adrienne pretending to rub off on each other in the kitchen in front of my sister's boyfriend (who hasn't quite caught on to the fact that we're all certifiable). And goddamn it I just wanted my glass of juice...

Did you correct the Life Banner? It doesn't look that bad to me. The Demon!Dean could use some contrast adjustment but it's far from horrible. :)

No, I haven't yet. But when I made it, on my screen, Ryan faded out smoothly into the black background and didn't look all halo-y and blurry.(And really, the lower part of him looks like it was scribbled out with a black crayon...)

On the icon, it's not really the contrast that is a problem so much as the huge smudge of pure black above the writing which looked exactly the same as the dark gray around it when I made the icon. :/

It must really depend on the color balance, then. Because my screen is HD, and the 'halo' effect like you said is very faint and the bottom of him just fades out with the shadows of the coat. No biggie. I'd try it on my other screen, but since I've moved I don't have a desk big enough to place the two on them so it's waiting under my bed. :(

True. Black smudge. Yes. Well, I didn't pay attention the first time around.
