Anyone else been having issues with mod queues blocking posts to communities that have never moderated their posts before? I had this issue with castle_slash and castle_fic back in October. And I admit I kind of silently flipped out about it, because in the former case I waited a week to contact the absentee moderator, and it didn't seem like my story was ever going to show. Eventually, someone else posted to that comm, and I was finally able to to post there after that, and I've managed to post two more without issue, so I thought the problem was resolved.

But now it's doing it again. Anyone know what the crap is up with that?

I dunno. I just recently became a mod at heroes_fic and today had to approve two fics, neither of which seemed objectionable in the least. I had the option of adding the users to an approved list of users I wouldn't need to moderate again, so I did that for the second one (wasn't sure what it was for the first one and skipped it; wish I hadn't). But the thing is, one of the fics was from MAY! It's hard for me to believe the previous mods missed it, but that's why they were willing to appoint me, I guess.

I would hope that this is something they're doing to cut down on the spam. The rule the moderator screen told me was that there was a whitelist of websites links were allowed to, and if you weren't on that list, then the fic went into an approval queue.

Also want to say that there was no notice pushed out to mods about the change, as far as I know. I just got an email saying I had a fic in the queue for the comm, with a link to go approve/deny.
