I've clearly been doing a terrible job at that "regular journaling" thing in my resolutions.
Sadly, due to my friend Z's new job cutting into his hours, the Gargoyles rewatch has fallen through. A bit. It's on hiatus, we'll say.
I have however managed to get through about two thirds or so of the Heroes tie-in comics. Which is a good thing, because once I've read those I'll be in a good position to finally get proper work done on volume two of Zeitgeist—which has been languishing unfinished for too long, because like a dope I went and planned it out as a case!fic...without putting much thought into the actual case.
I made the same mistake when I started "Black Edelweiss", believe it or not. I knew it was going to revolve around a murder, but I didn't think very much about who the victim was going to be, or where the body was going to be found, then went back and changed it...which was good, because the case wound up adding so much to the plot it just wouldn't have been the same. I think it all turned out okay in the end. Hopefully I'll be able to say the same for "Rosemary".
I've also finally gotten around to watching the backlog of Almost Human episodes. I've ranted about my issues with that series somewhere, probably either Facebook or
terror_scifi. I might repeat those issues here at a later time, but since a.) I'm already watching it and b.) most of my predictions about how badly Fox was going to dick around with it have already proven true it would be pretty redundant at this point. I hate to sound pessimistic, but at the rate things are going, that redux can wait until they cancel it the way they always do. :(
I've also made my first plunge into the show's fledgling fandom. I've written one fic so far—my first wing!fic, actually, so...hurray?—and signed up for
almosthumanbang as an artist. I may also be writing a fic for it as well. If I do, it will probably be an entry into the Zeitgeist timeline of some sort.
I've made an effort to play on Z's MUD. I've even gone so far as to log the 100+ hours I would need to have my character become a cop in-game (as I'd long planned). Unfortunately, due to the aforementioned work schedule, Z hasn't been playing Z's MUD, so a lot of the fire for me to play has died out. It might return. It might not. We'll see.
And I guess I'm set to commit to my fanfic pecking order... I'll post that in another journal.
