I accomplished practically nothing this week in terms of actual writing. Which sucks in general, and double-sucks so far as it concerns my participation in almosthumanbang. Not ready to give up quite yet (there's still more than a few months to go), but I find my enthusiasm with the story waning, and that concerns me.

Honey, my little satan-dog, had a vet visit today to get a couple vaccinations taken care of, and to deal with a pair of ingrown dewclaws. A home-visit from a lady my mom found who does house calls. Of course, in doing the visit at home, the first twenty minutes or so consisted of my (very awesome and helpful) sister and I chasing Honey around to get the muzzle on her, and then holding her still long enough for the vet to do what she had to. The result was traumatic for the little beast, who finally had to be sedated with a squirt of something into her mouth, of which she is still shaking off the effects, poor thing. She's a very little dog, but I'm not in the best shape (or even mediocre shape) and even sedated she put up a monster of a fight. The vet showed up around 2, was gone by about 3, and I wound up crashing for a nap until around 8 feeling like I'd collided with a train.

I've clearly been doing a terrible job at that "regular journaling" thing in my resolutions.

One of the odd things I love about Archive of Our Own is that, every once in a while, I'll find worthwhile reading there other than fic. There are a fair number of fandom essays hosted on the site, from author's arguments for or against a specific ship or characterization, to handy "how to" guides for certain tropes.

Found this through a bit of random wandering only tangentially related to the Sui Generis sequel I'm working on. It's a bit morbid, but I think some of the forms in this video are really beautiful.
